André Robert Tassano moved from England to Berlin in 1982 aged 15. He soon became part of the Kreuzberg culture scene, working with musicians and artists and going on tours, producing publications, and performing works of art. “A lot of my paintings may have a somewhat design quality to it, as it helps me define the purpose and put something across in a more direct manner. The form that I’ve included into most of them helps me counter established conventional methods and steer away from superficiality, which I think is important if one is to acknowledge the possibilities of new technologies. With it I add a structure to underline rhythm and enhance texture”. |
